Training Completed for the New Guiding Stars

From October 3 to 5, 2025, an introductory training was held for new volunteers in the Guiding Stars program. The training brought together students of humanities who wish to invest their knowledge and time in volunteering, gain new experiences, and create meaningful change. A total of 24 young people completed the training and will, in the coming months, implement activities focused on addiction prevention and the promotion of health among young people.

During the introductory training, volunteers received basic information about addiction prevention, as well as ideas on how to approach working with children in creative ways and make each session both engaging and educational. The training also provided an opportunity to build team spirit and mutual trust among volunteers, as teamwork and strong collaboration form the foundation of successful support for children and youth. Through practical examples and workshop-based learning, participants learned how to adapt activities to different age groups, how to motivate children to take part in educational and creative content, and how to respond to challenging situations that may arise during their work.

The training was extremely interesting and rich in various activities, which contributed to its dynamic and interactive nature. During the program, I gained a great deal of new knowledge and information that I consider highly useful for my future volunteering engagement. In addition to professional development, this experience allowed me to meet wonderful people and build new connections that further enriched the entire experience. . – Arnela Alibašić

The volunteer engagement lasts from October to January and includes working with primary school students, collaborating with school staff, and attending joint meetings and workshops with other volunteers and the program coordinator. Through mentorship support and tailored training sessions, volunteers will have the opportunity to continuously develop their competencies and apply what they learn in practice.

At the end of the program, all participants will receive a certificate of volunteering as confirmation of the knowledge, skills, and contribution they have made to the community. Even more importantly, they will carry with them valuable experience and new connections that will support their further professional development.

Thank you to all participants for their dedication and willingness to work together in building a healthier and safer future for children and young people!
