First volunteer experience, socializing with peers, learning, networking, professional development, new friendships.
Whether they were involved as a volunteer, a member of the Board of Directors, a school representative, or in any other way, the Addiction Prevention Competence Centre (formerly NARKO-NE) was a place of inspiration, growth, and development for them.
And what was NARKO-NE to them? They told us in their own words.
NARKO-NE was my first major volunteering experience, my first flight to Switzerland, proof that young people can make their ideas a reality, and the reason why today I am not afraid to be a young leader in BiH.
For me, NARKO-NE has remained the organization that, through its projects, enabled me to build a strong volunteering career, where I could freely express my wishes and interests, as well as learn new knowledge and improve my skills.
NARKO-NE was my ticket into the world of activism, journalism, and the realization that an individual cannot be well if the whole society is not well.
NARKO-NE is the promotion of values such as the meaning of life, happiness, kindness, responsibility, dignity, freedom, and equality in shaping the world we live in.
When I describe my upbringing, I never leave out NARKO-NE, and because of that, some of the values that guide NARKO-NE are the same ones that guide me through everyday life. I often wonder how everything would look if, one summer, there had been no NARKO-NE.
