On Thursday, March 9, 2023, the 21st regular assembly of NARKO-NE was held at the Center for Children and Youth in Novo Sarajevo. After the opening of the Assembly and introductory words by the Executive Director of NARKO-NE, Amir Hasanović, and the Chairman of the Assembly, Tarik Smailbegović, the results of the joint efforts and activities carried out in 2022 were presented by employees Alma Hadžiskakić, Kerima Delibašić, Ileana Šnur-Muratagić, and Azra Halilović. They qualitatively and quantitatively presented the successes of the initiatives carried out in the areas of Family, School, and Workplace, which fall under the micro-environment, as well as initiatives such as the European Prevention Curriculum, Older Brother, Older Sister, Guiding Stars, Boombar, Media, and International Volunteering within the macro-environment.

The presentation was joined by volunteers Amina Selimović and Elma Zuko, who enriched the previous presentation with their personal volunteer stories, further illustrating what volunteering means to them.

As per tradition, the members were addressed by the President of the Board of Directors, Fra Stipan Radić, and Sister Magdalena Schildknecht, who inspired reflection on all the good things that NARKO-NE does, as well as what each of us as individuals can do to improve the situation in society.

The guests were, as is customary at the Assembly, given the opportunity to see the inflow and outflow of NARKO-NE’s funds through the presentation of the financial report. The event was further enhanced by a discussion where the guests, through their questions, comments, and praise, contributed to making the event even more interesting and relaxing.

After the formal part, the gathering continued with a delicious buffet and informal conversations, which always serve as an opportunity for further introductions, networking, and the formation of new friendships. We are happy that, year after year, we are expanding this positive story and becoming richer with new members of our “family,” who, through their active work, effort, and dedication, contribute to building a better and healthier environment for all of us.
