Job Announcement: Financial and Administrative Assistant

The Association for Addiction Prevention NARKO-NE creates and develops programs aimed at empowering and fostering the healthy development of children and youth while building and strengthening the capacities of professionals* for effective work in addiction prevention and health promotion in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2025, the Association will celebrate its 23rd anniversary and is now seeking a new team member for a crucial position ensuring the smooth operation of the Association.

Position Title:
Financial and Administrative Assistant
Position Description:
Under the coordination and supervision of the Financial Manager, the Financial and Administrative Assistant will perform tasks related to financial and administrative operations. They will ensure the seamless functioning of the Association and the implementation of planned projects and activities in accordance with internal rules and procedures, legal regulations, and specific donor requirements and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving, processing, preparing, and managing the Association’s internal and external documents
Cash and banking operations (including e-banking)
Salary calculations and other HR tasks
Record-keeping
Communication and fieldwork with key stakeholders (e.g., accounting, tax administration, suppliers)
Support in report preparation and general administrative tasks
Procurement of office supplies and coordination of infrastructure maintenance

Qualifications and Experience:
Formal Requirements:
Secondary education (business-legal technician, economic technician, or other related fields with knowledge of financial and administrative operations preferred)
Proficiency in MS Office (advanced knowledge of Excel and Word is an advantage)
Good knowledge of the English language (minimum B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
No prior work experience is required, but volunteer experience is desirable
Preference will be given to young candidates due to the nature of the work, though all individuals who see themselves in this role are encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements:
Willingness to learn and work within existing internal rules and procedures
Flexibility in working hours, including fieldwork and learning about addiction prevention
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a professional and flexible approach to working with youth and other stakeholders
Organizational skills and responsibility (self-discipline in work)
Willingness to plan and monitor one’s work in coordination with supervisors, with initiative to improve personal and team performance
Responsible handling of information and documentation, as well as attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to travel within and outside Bosnia and Herzegovina for professional development
A propensity for using various software solutions that facilitate and accelerate work processes is essential, as the organization aims to digitize all processes through various online and desktop programs and applications.

Candidates shortlisted based on their applications will be invited for an interview. Interviews will be conducted from December 23 to December 27, 2024. The selected candidate will begin employment on January 1, 2025.
The interview will include a brief test of knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as clarification regarding the engagement terms and compensation.
