Evidence-based addiction prevention is at the core of the work of the Association for Addiction Prevention NARKO-NE. Through training in the European Prevention Curriculum (EUPC), we actively educate key individuals responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, science-based prevention programs. To date, we have conducted ten EUPC trainings across various cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This time, Zenica hosted the eleventh training, held on April 15 and 16, 2025, at Hotel Dubrovnik. The training brought together professionals from institutions working with children and youth, all of whom are directly involved in the implementation of prevention programs.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is a daily increase in the number of people addicted to various psychoactive substances and engaging in risky behaviors. These figures highlight the urgent need for active efforts to prevent further deterioration of the situation. Although various preventive measures are implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina to address this problem, the key challenge is that many of these interventions are not based on scientific research and, as such, do not produce the desired results. The European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA) is the author of the curriculum, and the trainers, Amir Hasanović and Sanela Pekić, are licensed to implement the Curriculum in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Udruženje za prevenciju ovisnosti NARKO-NE, vodeći se evropskim standardima, ali i uspješnim praksama u Evropi i svijetu nastoji u BiH uspostaviti jasne, kvalitetne standarde u oblasti prevencije ovisnosti. Naporan rad rezultirao je da Vlada Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine prihvati inicijativu Federalnog ministarstva obrazovanja i nauke za izradu prve sveobuhvatne strategije za prevenciju ovisnosti u FBiH 2024-2034, a u ovom procesu će Udruženje NARKO-NE  kao partner pružati stručnu i tehničku podršku.
