We invite individuals who work with children and young people in their leisure time – in sports clubs, cultural and artistic associations, youth and volunteer organizations, language and art courses, religious communities, and other initiatives – to join the Preventeen project and take part in a free training that will be held from September 16 to 19, 2025, in Sarajevo (Hotel Radon Plaza, Džemala Bijedića 185).

Through Preventeen, we aim to contribute to the development of a higher-quality environment that supports healthy lifestyles for children and young people in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a focus on how they spend their leisure time. Together with professionals working with children and youth, we seek to develop guidelines that will help us collectively provide better support to this sensitive population.

What does participation in Preventeen involve?

• Professional training in the field of addiction prevention and health promotion (September 16–19, 2025. 9. 2025. The training agenda is available here.)

• Integration of prevention standards into the daily work of organizations (September–December 2025)

• Continuous support through monitoring meetings and exchange of experiences (September–December 2025)

Through this project, we aim to recognize and strengthen the role of everyone working with children and youth, so that their daily commitment to the healthy development of young people can have an even stronger and more sustainable impact.

The organizer covers the costs of project activities, including training materials, accommodation during the training (full board in double rooms for participants from outside Sarajevo; lunch for participants from Sarajevo), and refreshments during coffee breaks. Travel costs are covered by the participants themselves or by the organizations they represent. Participation is mandatory for the entire duration of the training.

Individuals from Livno, Goražde, Mostar, Sarajevo, Tuzla, or Zenica are eligible to apply. Applicants must have the support of their employer and their willingness to participate in working and monitoring meetings (two meetings by the end of the year, both online and in person).

The application deadline is September 11, 2025 9. 2025. at 11:00 a.m. The number of places is limited, so interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible by completing the application form HERE. After the application deadline, and no later than September 12, all applicants will be notified of the status of their application.
