Evidence-based addiction prevention is at the core of the work of the Association for Addiction Prevention NARKO-NE. Through training in the European Prevention Curriculum (EUPC)<\/em>, we actively educate key individuals responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, science-based prevention programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To date, we have conducted ten EUPC <\/em>trainings across various cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This time, Zenica hosted the eleventh training, held on April 15 and 16, 2025, at Hotel Dubrovnik<\/em>. The training brought together professionals from institutions working with children and youth, all of whom are directly involved in the implementation of prevention programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was led by Amir Hasanovi\u0107<\/strong>, Executive Director of NARKO-NE, and Andrea Mijatovi\u0107<\/strong>, Deputy Executive Director. They shared their expertise and experience, using diverse methods to present the core principles of effective prevention and to highlight the importance of moving away from outdated approaches that can do more harm than good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Prevention Curriculum training was of high quality and very informative, offering a range of valuable insights applicable in a professional context. It met my expectations, as I work on organizing and implementing prevention activities. I especially appreciated the practical guidance and the exchange of experiences with other participants. I believe these topics are of great societal importance, and I\u2019m convinced that this type of education can contribute to positive change by strengthening capacities and raising awareness.<\/em>\u2014 Alma Gladan<\/strong>, Senior Health Promoter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was extremely useful \u2013 I received concrete and applicable information that I can use in other areas of prevention work as well. I believe these types of trainings are an important step toward change. Following the Zenica session, NARKO-NE will continue organizing EUPC<\/em> trainings in other cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the goal of equipping as many professionals as possible with the knowledge and skills needed to implement high-quality and effective prevention programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
